Product Details
Hevea with an Oak stain is a beautiful wood floor that is also known as rubberwood. This is widely thought to be one of the best solid wood materials in the world for a number of excellent reasons. Primarily it is extremely environmentally friendly when compared to most other wood types. The tree is cut from working rubber plantations but only after their primary use is served. After using the harvested trees, the land is then replanted to be used again.
Each plank is solid hevea wood, in a 4 strip plank with T&G edges. The solid wood is 13mm thick with 7 coats of UV lacquer to protect and enhance the finish.
This versatile wood is considered to be hard-wearing and is very well suited for a long-lasting floor. But, don't confuse hard-wearing with scratch-proof. All real wood floors can mark and scratch over time and they do require a degree of protection. We recommend reading our solid wood flooring care guide to find out more. With basic care, a Hevea wood floor can often last a lifetime.
Rubberwood is also more stable than most other woods. Because of this, once kiln dried it is more stable when faced with changes in humidity or moisture, leading to less movement.
And of course, with the added oak stain, we think that this floor looks fantastic. The rustic features look vibrant and natural.
