Product Details

Parquet oak flooring is one of the most popular floor types available today. Our unfinished solid rustic oak parquet blocks combine the authentic beauty of reclaimed rustic flooring with the tradition of real parquet flooring.

Each solid oak 60mm wide wood block can be glued or nailed individually to the sub-floor in any style, but a herringbone pattern is the most common. The same wood blocks can also be used to form a border.

We have selected a rustic character grade oak for this floor to ensure an outstanding warm floor. Rustic flooring contains considerably more character than regular flooring and often looks more like a reclaimed wood floor (without the added expense). Expect to see a bigger range of colour, splits, knots, pin-holes and more. We recommend purchasing an extra 5%, in case of any boards that are too rustic for your installation.

As this is an unfinshed floor, it requires sanding and sealing with wood flooring oil or lacquer.

Maintenance

Maintenance

A solid wood floor is a fantastic and practical floor covering popular since the 1600's.  They are naturally hard wearing and often many old buildings still have their original wood flooring. Of course, they will be full of signs of use over many years, but many consider this to be a floor that is then rich character and history. Today, many new floors are already distressed to offer an instant lived in appearance.
